Marcelo Salas

Chief Executive Officer

Dear Members and Friends,

Welcome to our first ALABC Newsletter of 2023. As we begin the year, we invite you actively shape ALABC’s agenda by engaging with us and providing your valuable input.

I encourage you to read the summary and key takeaways from the ALABC Canberra Networking Day at Parliament House where key leaders  from industry and government shared valuable insights that can help identify business opportunities, key trends and industry concerns in the region. We are committed to keeping our members engaged in our upcoming activities and supporting your business expansion in this rapidly evolving business landscape.

We have planned and exciting calendar of events for 2023, including our traditional annual business dinners in Sydney, Perth, Melbourne and Brisbane. We will also continue with other events throughout the year, such as our business luncheons with Ambassadors, Senior Government officials and business leaders. We have also recently opened applications for our Business Excellence Awards, to be presented at our Sydney Gala Dinner in June.

Please save the date for our AGM in May, and our ALABC-COALAR Networking Day in Canberra at the end of November to ensure you secure your place.

In 2023, ALABC will strongly advocate for a comprehensive globally connected business strategy for Latin America. Australia needs to expand horizons, diversify markets and reduce the dependency on Asia. It is not about the reallocation of priorities or the broadening of perspectives, it's about thinking bigger and being enthusiastic about the world.

We hope that 2023 brings good health and continued success as we strive towards growing the business links between Australia and Latin America. Thank you for your ongoing support, and we  look forward to connecting with you all.

Best regards,

Marcelo Salas
